Elements > CS planes > Copy

Copy the information on cross-section planes from one element to others.

SettingDescription
Element Current element, whose values shall be assigned to the new elements
From/To/Step Series of elements for assigning the cross-section plane
Begin/End Definitions for the element begin or end respectively
Normal Cross-section plane is normal to the element axis
Vertical Cross-section plane is vertical (parallel to the global Y-axis and local z-axis)
Horizontal Cross-section plane is horizontal (parallel to the global XZ plane) (e.g. for piers)
Angle CS plane will be defined by an angle - in this case both angles have to be defined in form of mathematical functions Sinus:
SettingDescription
SinXoY Sine of the angle between the local y axis and the y axis of the cross-section
SinXoZ Sine of angle between the local z axis and the z-axis of the cross-section
dBeta Rotation of the principal axes of the cross-section with respect to those of the element (around the axis normal to the cross-section plane).
Note: The definition of this rotation has no influence in the analysis. It has been implemented for getting the exact geometry of pre-fabricated segments for surveying calculations in RmCast. Note that the angles defined with SinXoY and SinXoZ refer to the local axes prior to applying any rotation dBeta.

The cross-section plane is defined separately for the begin and end of the element.
